It’s no surprise to hear that Danes have style. You see it in the clothes they wear (a scarf is the #1 accessory in Denmark, even with a bathing suite!) and the furniture they style their homes with. Although the months of September and October are packed full of fashion week excitement from London, Milan, Paris, as well as, Turkey, Budapest, China and more it seems the Danes are making headlines once again. Copenhagen Fashion Week revved onto the scene in early August, and New York Fashion Week is wrapping up today. What is it about den Danske måde (the Danish way) that appeals to so many in the fashion world? Whether it’s layering a chunky sweater with a scarf and shorts, or pairing ‘trainers’ with a skirt, Danish style is effortless and artful – and who doesn’t want to look like that? However, their style also provides functionality while riding a bike or commuting in the ever-changing climate. (Read more hear about some of the best Scandinavian fashion bloggers.)
