It’s no surprise to hear that Danes have style. You see it in the clothes they wear (a scarf is the #1 accessory in Denmark, even with a bathing suite!) and the furniture they style their homes with. Danish influence in fashion and furniture is everywhere you look. From runway shows around the world to the mid-century modern style that is so popular these days, Danske mode is in!
This year Danish fashion made headlines. From New York to Paris their take on fashion – simple, quality items that are functional and practical – has been making a mark and catching the eye of many a fashionable gal and fashion-forward gent.

Although the months of September and October are packed full of fashion week excitement from London, Milan, Paris, as well as, Turkey, Budapest, China and more it seems the Danes are making headlines once again. Copenhagen Fashion Week revved onto the scene in early August, and New York Fashion Week is wrapping up today. It’s only too long before we’ll start seeing on-trend reverberations making their way into magazines, window shops and on street-chic urbanites. What is it about den Danske måde (the Danish way) that appeals to so many in the fashion world? Whether it’s layering a chunky sweater with a scarf and shorts, or pairing ‘trainers’ with a skirt, Danish style is effortless and artful – and who doesn’t want to look like that?
