What’s in a name?
You might ask: Isn’t it old-fashioned to call a senior living community “a home?” And, because we call our community, The Danish Home, does that mean only Danes live here?
The answers are yes and no.
We thought about changing our name, but the truth is that The Danish Home really is a home. Our community doesn’t look like the others either. Residents live in a large, stately mansion in a beautiful northwest Chicago neighborhood.
While our name, The Danish Home, may evoke a sense of exclusivity, we want to assure you that our community welcomes people from all nationalities and walks of life.
The Danish Home is a home—not a facility, an institution, or a campus. It’s just that simple.
Amenities and services
We have all the amenities and services you find in upscale senior living communities, just more of them. Our culinary team prepares three meals a day from fresh, scratch ingredients. Housekeeping is daily, and laundry is weekly. Our lifestyle department arranges for resident-inspired activities and outings. But we also have gorgeous gardens, a living room for cards and private discussions, and our family room, where we gather for games, crafts, and projects. Meals are in the dining room, overlooking beautiful flowers and foliage. There are nooks and crannies for private conversations, and we have a yard where we host large parties and savory cookouts. Colorful gardens that staff and residents tend abound.
