The Danish Home of Chicago Receives Founding Member Award from LeadingAge Illinois

The Danish Home of Chicago, a boutique senior community located in Norwood Park, has proudly received the Founding Member Award from LeadingAge Illinois in recognition of 100 years of outstanding membership. The award was presented to the community during LeadingAge Illinois’ 100th anniversary dinner on July 29th, 2024. The organization honored The Danish Home during a special ceremony, in which the community received recognition and gratitude for a century of excellent partnership.

The Founding Member Award recognizes organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the field of senior living, and have been actively involved in advancing the mission of LeadingAge. The Danish Home of Chicago, established over 130 years ago, was honored for its long-standing commitment to providing exceptional care and support to seniors, reflecting the core values of LeadingAge Illinois.

Scott Swanson, President and CEO of The Danish Home, accepted the award on behalf of the community, and expressed his gratitude and pride.

“Receiving this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at The Danish Home of Chicago. It is an honor to be recognized by LeadingAge, and we are excited to continue our mission of enhancing the quality of life and care for older adults.”

The 100th anniversary dinner not only celebrated The Danish Home’s significant milestone, along with a handful of other senior living communities, but also served as the inaugural event for the LeadingAge Illinois 2024 Annual Meeting & Expo. Taking place in Schaumburg, Illinois, from July 29th through July 31st, this exceptional work conference served as a way for innovators, practitioners, and individuals involved in the field of aging services to foster collaboration and explore new ideas to improve the care and support of seniors.

The Danish Home of Chicago is proud to accept this prestigious recognition and will continue advancing their efforts towards providing exceptional care and support for older adults while further evolving the senior living industry.
