Enjoy live, toe-tapping entertainment from the Westerlees Swing Band, bringing their down-home, old-timey sound to the stage from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Whether you’re dancing along or just soaking in the tunes, their vibe is sure to strike a festive tone.
Come hungry – there’s something for everyone! Sip a cold Carlsberg at our beer garden, grab a bite from the food tent, or savor traditional Danish sandwiches. Don’t miss the bakery, featuring irresistible homemade Kringle and other sweet delights. Feeling lucky? Try your hand at our “Lucky Buckets” or browse our treasure chest for hidden gems. Kids will have plenty to enjoy too, with face painting and games designed just for them.
Curious about what’s new? Tours of The Danish Home’s beautiful new construction will be available from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Take this wonderful opportunity to explore our boutique senior community’s exciting updates and additions. Imagine yourself or a loved one living here!
Pivotal in the life of The Danish Home, the Women’s Auxiliary plays a vital role in making Summerfest happen. Founded in 1958 and now over 100 members strong, this dedicated group funds gifts, outings and events that enhance the lives of residents year-round. New members are always welcome; stop by one of the Summerfest booths to say hello and learn more.
Admission to Summerfest is free, but voluntary donations of cash or checks in support of our non-profit organization are greatly appreciated. Make checks payable to The Danish Home of Chicago Foundation; collection boxes are conveniently located throughout the picnic grounds.
